Titans Blank Panthers 9-0
McBee, SC — Trinity Collegiate used a dominant performance on the mound and an aggressive effort on the basepaths to defeat McBee 9–0 on Thursday.
Two Titans pitchers combined for the shutout, with Senior Gavin Holt earning the win and Junior Ross Meadows delivering an outstanding relief appearance. Holt allowed just one hit and struck out two over two innings of work. Meadows followed with five scoreless innings, striking out seven while allowing only two hits and no walks.
Trinity jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning when Senior Bennett Bradshaw drove in the game's first run with a lineout. The Titans added to their advantage in the second after a groundout by Senior Davidson Lynch gand a McBee error each brought home a run.
At the plate, Junior Robert Mack led the offensive effort with three hits in four at-bats, including a double in the fourth inning. Junior Brody Phillips and Sophomore Garrison Copeland each drove in two runs, while Holt also added two hits.
Trinity was aggressive on the basepaths throughout the game, stealing 10 bases. Copeland and Mack each recorded multiple steals as the Titans consistently applied pressure to the Panthers' defense.
McBee managed three hits in the game, with Chris Stone, Manning Tolson, and Harlin McLaurin each recording one.
With the win, Trinity will return home Tuesday, March 10th to face Hilton Head Christian Academy in the SCISA 4A Region III opener.
