Titans Topple McBee, 10-3
Darlington, SC — Trinity Collegiate put together a complete performance on Thursday, rolling past McBee 10-3 behind a balanced offensive attack and strong pitching.
The Titans wasted no time getting on the board, as Bennett Bradshaw delivered an RBI single in the first inning. Trinity continued to build momentum in the second, using a groundout from Brody Phillips and a run-scoring double by Garrison Copeland to extend the lead.
The advantage grew again in the third inning, when Miller Buchanan and Robert Mack each drove in runs with singles to give Trinity firm control of the game.
Drew Cockrell earned the win on the mound, turning in an impressive outing. The right-hander allowed just four hits and three runs, none earned, over six and one-third innings while striking out eight. Phillips came on in relief to help close things out.
Trinity's lineup produced consistently throughout the game, finishing with 12 hits. Bradshaw led the way with two RBIs, while Davidson Lynch, Bradshaw, Copeland, and Mack each collected two hits. Copeland also sparked the Titans on the bases with two steals, as the team totaled four stolen bases on the day.
