Titans Blank Lions, 15-0
Florence, SC — A dominant all-around performance powered Trinity Collegiate to a 15-0 victory over King's Academy on Thursday, highlighted by a big day at the plate from Bennett Bradshaw.
Bradshaw led the offensive surge, driving in four runs on three hits. He delivered RBI singles in the second, third, and fourth innings, consistently producing for the Titans throughout the game.
Trinity Collegiate wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning, capitalizing on a mix of patience and pressure. Bradshaw drove in a run on a fielder's choice, Tyler Smart drew a bases-loaded walk, an error brought in another run, and Miller Buchanan added an RBI single to give the Titans an early advantage.
The Titans extended their lead in the second inning behind Bradshaw's two-run single, along with another run scoring on an error. They broke the game open in the third, plating five runs on five hits. Brody Phillips and Davidson Lynch each delivered RBI doubles, Bradshaw added another run-scoring single, Buchanan contributed a sacrifice fly, and Jaylen Clark capped the inning with an RBI single.
On the mound, Buchanan was outstanding, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just one hit. The right-hander struck out eight and walked one to earn the win.
Trinity Collegiate's offense finished with 13 hits, with Bradshaw and Lynch each collecting three hits. Phillips and Buchanan added multiple hits as well. Smart also made an impact on the bases, swiping two bags as the Titans totaled four stolen bases on the day.
Defensively, Trinity Collegiate was flawless, not committing a single error. Lynch led the way with eight chances in the field.
King's Academy was limited offensively, with Cole Turner accounting for the Lions' lone hit.
Trinity Collegiate is back on their road Friday for its final regular game as the Titans will head to Cheraw. First pitch is set for 6:30 PM.
