Titans Fall Short in Road Opener
Anderson, SC — The Trinity Collegiate boys lacrosse team fell on the road Friday night, dropping a 13–6 decision to Westside High School.
Westside built an early advantage, scoring five goals in the opening quarter and four more in the second to take a 9–2 lead into halftime. The Titans found more offensive rhythm in the second half, including three goals in the fourth quarter, but the Titans were unable to complete the comeback.
Six different Titans contributed to the scoring effort. 8th Grader James Whitehead and Sophomore Hugh Whitehead each scored two goals, while Sophomore Wells Morgan and Sophomore Swisher Boggess added one goal apiece. Freshman Trevor Driggers led the team with two assists, and James Whitehead recorded one assist to lead the team in total points.
In goal, Benson Driggers made 17 saves while facing heavy pressure from the Rams offense.
Trinity Collegiate finished with six goals on 13 shots on goal in the contest.
Trinity will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they host Gilbert High School in the home opener on Thursday, March 12th. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 PM.
