Warren, Bethea Pace Titans at Wilson Hall
Sumter, SC — The Trinity Collegiate boys' track & field team turned in several strong performances across the track and field events at the Wilson Hall Meet #2, highlighted by a distance victory and multiple top-10 finishes.
Junior Jake Warren delivered the Titans' top performance of the day, winning the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:28.81. Warren also added another strong effort in the 1600 meters, finishing sixth overall in 5:23.01 to lead Trinity in the event.
On the sprint side, eighth-grader Dre'den Bethea paced the Titans with a pair of impressive finishes against a deep field. Bethea placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.65 and followed it up with another fourth-place finish in the 200 meters in 24.15.
Trinity also received solid performances from several other athletes across the meet. Cameron McNair placed 14th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.70 and added a top-20 finish in the 200 meters in 27.12.
In the middle-distance events, Stanton Stonerock finished 31st in the 800 meters in 3:04.71, while Jackson Williard and Wade Basta also competed in the event.
The Titans' distance group continued to contribute in the 1600 meters, where Sam Peel finished 13th in 5:48.50, while Malakai Horn and Jackson Williard also logged competitive efforts.
In the field events, Trinity saw contributions from several throwers and jumpers. Cody Brewton led the Titans in the throws with an eighth-place finish in the discus at 27.20 meters, while also competing in the shot put. Sam Peel added a 20.73-meter mark in the discus, and Tyler Bennett contributed in both the discus and shot put.
In the jumps, Stanton Stonerock placed 12th in the triple jump, and Wade Basta represented the Titans in the long jump.
The Titans will be back in action next week, in a meet to be determined.
