Titans Beat Wolves In Straight Sets
Florence, S.C.- The Trinity Collegiate Varsity Volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2025 season with a dominant 3–0 sweep over Virtus Academy on Tuesday, August 26. The Titans controlled the match from the opening serve, taking the sets 25–19, 25–14, and 25–11 to improve their record to 4–2 on the year.
Freshman Setter Emalee Watts ran the offense with efficiency, recording 18 assists to go along with four kills and three service aces. Middle blocker Logan Murray powered the attack at the net, finishing with a team-high eight kills and two solo blocks. Suzie Carter added five kills and two aces, while Eliza Segars chipped in four kills.
Defensively, libero Anne Evans Scott anchored the back row with 18 digs and five service aces, providing steady play throughout the match. Pinckney Riddle contributed seven service aces of her own and six digs, keeping the pressure on Virtus from the service line.
As a team, Trinity tallied 29 kills, 19 service aces, and 24 digs, while holding Virtus in check across all three sets. The Titans closed out each frame with decisive scoring runs, highlighted by a .294 hitting percentage in the final set to secure the sweep.
Trinity Collegiate will look to carry the momentum forward as they continue their early-season schedule on Thursday, August 28th as they take a trip to Mullins to face off against Pee Dee Academy. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 PM
