DARLINGTON, S.C. — Trinity Collegiate School is proud to announce the appointment of Ayshia Scott ('18) as the new Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, ushering in an exciting new chapter for one of the school's most successful athletic programs.
A Trinity Collegiate alumna, Coach Scott returns to her alma mater after building an impressive resume as a player, coach, trainer, mentor, and entrepreneur. Her unique combination of basketball knowledge, player development expertise, leadership experience, and deep connection to the Trinity community makes her an outstanding fit to lead the Lady Titans.
Coach Scott is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University – North Miami, where she majored in Sports, Entertainment & Event Management while serving as a point guard for the women's basketball team. Prior to her collegiate career, she established herself as one of the premier players in SCISA basketball during her time at Trinity Collegiate.
As a Lady Titan, Scott earned SCISA 2A All-Region honors during her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons and was named SCISA All-State as a senior. During her final season, she broke Trinity Collegiate's all-time scoring record and surpassed the coveted 1,000-point milestone with a 21-point performance against West Florence. She was selected as the team's Most Valuable Player in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and played a pivotal role in helping Trinity capture its first SCISA 2A State Championship in school history in 2018.
"Few individuals understand what it means to be a Lady Titan better than Ayshia Scott," said Roy Boggess, Director of Athletics at Trinity Collegiate School. "She helped build the foundation of our girls basketball program as a student-athlete and has continued to grow as a coach, mentor, and leader. Her passion for developing young people, combined with her knowledge of the game and commitment to excellence, makes her the ideal person to lead this program into the future."
Since graduating from college, Scott has coached and trained athletes at both the high school and collegiate levels while developing a reputation as an impactful mentor and teacher of the game. Her coaching philosophy is built on discipline, consistency, resilience, and accountability, emphasizing that success is earned through unwavering work ethic and the willingness to learn from adversity.
From 2022 through 2026, Scott expanded her influence throughout the sports industry through player development, media coverage, branding, and storytelling. Through her company, 2Smooth Visual Media LLC, she worked with athletes at the high school, collegiate, overseas, WNBA, NFL, and NBA levels, helping them showcase their stories and build their personal brands through photography, videography, documentaries, and creative media.
Throughout her career, Scott has remained committed to mentoring athletes and helping them grow both on and off the court. Her ability to connect with young people, develop confidence, teach leadership, and create meaningful relationships has made her a respected figure throughout the basketball community.
Her coaching philosophy can be summed up in a simple but powerful belief:
"Failure is one step closer to obtaining your goal. Your mentality must be strong enough to push through setbacks."
For Scott, coaching extends far beyond wins and losses.
"My purpose is to positively impact every athlete who crosses my path," Scott said. "Basketball provides an incredible opportunity to teach life lessons, build confidence, and develop character. I'm honored to return to Trinity Collegiate and invest in the next generation of Lady Titans."
As Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, Scott will lead a program with a proud tradition of success while continuing Trinity Collegiate's commitment to developing student-athletes who excel academically, athletically, and personally.
